A range still seeking its balance<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

For several years now, Fiat has been trying to redefine its place in the European automotive landscape. The Fiat 500e, produced at Mirafiori and launched in 2020, was to embody the brand's electric revival. Unfortunately, after a promising start.., sales collapsed in 2024<\/a>These are the result of overpriced vehicles and increasingly fierce competition in the electric city car segment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Conversely, the Fiat 600 seems to be finding its audience at last. Based on the Peugeot 2008 platform, and initially offered in an electric 100 % version in 2023, it has been available in a hybrid version since 2024. the latest figures show that this time<\/a>sales are on the up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another announced success is the Fiat Grande Panda, unveiled in the summer of 2024 and on sale since the beginning of 2025. If the demand is there, deliveries remain limited<\/a>. The cause: a labor shortage at the Serbian plant where it is assembled, which is currently idling<\/a>. A significant logistical obstacle, even though this model is crucial for Fiat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A hybrid 500, unclear projects and static communication<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Fiat still has an important card to play in 2025: the arrival of the Fiat 500 hybrid, scheduled for November. Prototypes have already been spotted on the road<\/a>This model should enable the brand to reconnect with an urban clientele reluctant to buy 100 % electric cars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But beyond this novelty, the future becomes more foggy.<\/strong> Two major models were expected: the Fiat Giga-Panda (codename F2U) and the European Fiat Fastback (F2X). These two vehicles were to be the focus of a major communication campaign in the summer of 2025, to mark the brand's anniversary on July 11.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And yet, radio silence. Olivier Fran\u00e7ois, usually very present in the media, is keeping a low profile. Expected announcements seem to be on hold, as if frozen. And with good reason: all product plans must now be approved by the new CEO of Stellantis.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Antonio Filosa: the new decider of Fiat's future<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Appointed on May 28, Antonio Filosa will officially take office on June 23. Although his appointment follows months of uncertainty about the Group's strategic direction, it is already accompanied by the first visible adjustments. Maserati and Alfa Romeo will have to revise their roadmaps. Fiat, obviously, too.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to our information, the Giga-Panda (F2U) is still on the drawing board, but production is not scheduled until summer 2026. It is due to roll off the production lines of the Stellantis plant in K\u00e9nitra, Morocco. The same goes for the Fiat Fastback (F2X), also scheduled for production in K\u00e9nitra in spring 2026... but news of which is becoming increasingly scarce. Worrying silence or strategic reorientation? Only time will tell.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What next?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Beyond these two models, nothing is really clear. All we know is that a new generation of Panda is planned for Pomigliano d'Arco by 2030. Rumors also point to a return of the Multipla name or even the Punto, but with low probability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Caution now seems to be the order of the day. Communication around the F2U and F2X products has been brought to a halt, as it now depends on Antonio Filosa's decisions. And until he validates the next steps, Fiat will remain on hold.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The future of Italian brands in question<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

After all, Fiat is not the only one concerned. Alfa Romeo, Maserati, but also Lancia and Abarth could see their product plans modified in the coming months. The next few weeks will therefore be crucial for the future of the Italian brands within Stellantis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Antonio Filosa now holds the keys to the brand's future.
