Presented in 2023, the Fiat 600 was to embody the Italian brand's revival in the urban SUV segment. <\/strong>A direct replacement for the aging 500X, it was first launched as a 100 % electric version (600e), in September 2023. At the time, Fiat<\/a>like many other manufacturers, still believed in an immediate all-electric future. As a result, priority was given to the zero-emission version... a strategy that quickly proved to be out of touch with the market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It will be March 2024 before Fiat finally opens orders for hybrid version<\/a>At around \u20ac25,000, it's almost \u20ac10,000 cheaper than the electric 600. A price difference that changes everything.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hybrids change the game<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Unsurprisingly, the 600's commercial debut was timid. The launch of an electric-only version wasn't enough to win people over, especially as public subsidies were being reduced in several European countries. But as soon as the hybrid version became available, sales began to rise. Even so, we had to wait until the second half of 2024 to see a real take-off in registrations.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

And today, in May 2025, almost a year after deliveries of the hybrid version began, the balance sheet is much more positive. The Fiat 600 is beginning to make its mark on the European urban landscape.<\/strong> But do the figures bear out this impression? And above all, can this model match the volumes of the 500X it replaces?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Solid sales, especially for hybrids<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Fiat has focused on four key markets for the 600: Italy, France, Germany and Spain. And in these markets, results are very encouraging, at least for the hybrid version. Here are the registrations from January to April 2025, divided between the hybrid version and the electric version (BEV):<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The figures speak for themselves. While France records a relatively balanced ratio, Italy clearly shows a rejection of the electric version. Barely 313 electric registrations versus almost 9,000 hybrids: the message is clear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Italy, the Fiat 600 was the 15th best-selling car in the first four months of the year.<\/strong> And if the pace continues, it could reach almost 30,000 registrations by the end of 2025. In France, it could pass the 10,000-unit mark, followed by around 8,000 in Spain and 7,000 in Germany. These volumes put Fiat in a similar position to that of the post-2020 500X.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

We make it clear post-2020<\/strong>The 500X peaked between 2017 and 2019, with up to 15,000 sales in France and over 45,000 in Italy. These figures are still out of reach for the 600... but who knows?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fiat's new bestseller in Europe<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Excluding the Fiat Panda, which remains unchallenged in Italy, the 600 is now the best-selling Fiat model in Europe. <\/strong>An important title, while the brand is already preparing the sequel.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And the future looks interesting. Late 2025, Fiat to launch new 500 hybrid for under \u20ac20,000<\/a>A return to reality for the star city car. The Fiat Grande Panda, which has already (slowly) started production, will complete the range from 2026.
