Alfa Romeo<\/a> continues to grow worldwide, but this momentum is far from uniform. Recent registration figures, which we are closely monitoring in the main countries where the brand is present, reveal some interesting trends. If Italy, France, Germany and the UK are all experiencing significant growth, it's largely thanks to theAlfa Romeo Junior<\/a>the brand's compact SUV, which alone accounts for a significant proportion of sales. <\/strong>But in countries where this model is not yet available, the situation is more complex, notably in the United States and Japan.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Junior, the engine of European growth<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In Europe, Alfa Romeo registrations in the first quarter of 2025 show a clear domination by the Junior, <\/strong>which capture a considerable proportion of sales in major markets. In Italy, for example, 6,102 of the 11,762 cars registered in 2025 were Juniors, i.e. almost half. In France, out of 2,586 registrations, 1,814 were Juniors, representing 70% of sales. Even in Spain, where figures were slightly down on the previous year, Juniors also accounted for more than half of registrations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Germany, on the other hand, remains a key market for the brand, with 1,506 Juniors registered out of 2,594 cars in 2025, i.e. a proportion of 58%. This is to be expected, since Germany tends to be a buyer of C-segment (Tonale) and D-segment (Stelvio) cars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

France and Germany: the battle for 2nd place<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

One of the most interesting dynamics at the start of 2025 is the rivalry for second place between France and Germany.<\/strong> March 2025<\/a>France briefly regained the lead, but when registrations from January to April are added up, Germany is back in front, by just a few hundred cars. This confirms that both markets are crucial for Alfa Romeo. However, it's clear that Italy remains the brand's cornerstone, with 11,762 registrations, well ahead of its European rivals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The United States: a worrying situation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

More worrying for Alfa Romeo is the United States, where the Junior will not be marketed. In April 2025, Alfa Romeo registrations collapsed to 483 units, a drop of almost 50 % compared to April 2024. Although price reductions have been implemented, mainly for the Tonale (as well as a motorization never seen before in this model<\/a>), it doesn't seem to have been enough to reverse the trend. We'll probably have to wait for the launch of the new Stelvio SUV in the second half of 2026 to hope for a turnaround.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Japan: waiting for Junior<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Japan represents another area of uncertainty. Although the Italian brand does not yet offer Junior, its arrival is imminent. However, the question remains: will it be enough to reverse the current trend? The latest data show a steady decline in registrations, but this situation could be rectified as soon as the Junior is available. Japan could quickly become a key market for Alfa Romeo in the months ahead.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Spain: a paradoxical situation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Finally, Spain deserves a special mention. Although registrations in 2025 were slightly down on the previous year, the share of Juniors remains significant. Out of 1,236 registrations, 799 were Juniors, representing almost 65 % of sales.
