After only six races out of the twenty-four on the programme, the situation is already bitter for the Scuderia Ferrari<\/a>. <\/strong>Despite renewed ambitions and an ultra-competitive driver line-up, the 2025 season of Formula 1<\/a> already seems to be slipping through the Italian team's fingers. Worse still, the figures are indisputable: the current trajectory is almost identical to that of 2023... when Ferrari had to settle for a battle for second place,<\/strong> finally finishing third, just behind Mercedes and a long way behind Red Bull.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

94 points from six races: back to 2023<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

On the face of it, the 2025 points total might seem unnoticeable. But put into perspective with previous seasons, it becomes a warning signal. In 2022, Ferrari already had 169 points at this stage. In 2024, 187 points. But in 2023, a year of relative stagnation, the Scuderia had just 90 points after six races. Today? 94 points. Barely better.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This parallel is not insignificant: it shows that despite promised changes<\/a>The SF-25 offers no guarantee of progress. Worse still, results stagnated at a time when McLaren and Mercedes were making their mark at the start of the season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

152 points behind<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

In Miami, the slap in the face was brutal. While the circuit seemed to be in Ferrari's favor, Leclerc and Hamilton could only manage 7th and 8th place. The result: a 152-point deficit on McLaren, which is already 246 points behind. Even Red Bull, only buoyed by a Max Verstappen in a state of grace, remains ahead with 105 points.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The gap is such that a return to the manufacturer's championship race now seems impossible, even with major upgrades planned for Imola and Barcelona. The realistic target? Second place, already contested by Mercedes (141 points) and Ferrari (94 points).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An unstable car and a structural problem<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

It's not just the points that explain the current failure. Technically, the SF-25 doesn't live up to its promises. Contrary to initial hypotheses on aerodynamics, the real Achilles' heel is mechanical: the rear suspension. <\/strong>Instability, poor ride height management, excessive flat-bottom wear... Ferrari simply can't get the most out of its chassis.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The worst part? The problem has been identified since March<\/a>But there's no quick fix in sight. A new rear suspension is being prepared, but it won't arrive for several races. Until then, the drivers will have to deal with a \"wobbly\" single-seater, as a source close to the team put it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A reset in Barcelona... or a break-up?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Faced with Miami's failure, Fred Vasseur spoke of a \" reset for everyone<\/a> \"But behind this facade, concern is growing. But behind this facade, concern is growing. Internal tensions are mounting: Leclerc seems resigned, while Hamilton no longer hesitates to raise his voice<\/a>on the radio and in private. The clash in Miami between the driver and the race engineer left a lasting impression.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Vasseur now has his back to the wall. Barcelona could be the ultimate test, not only for the car, but also for the organization chart. The recent arrival of Lo\u00efc Serra as Technical Director in October 2024 has yet to produce the desired results. And internally, some people are beginning to contemplate strong decisions if the results don't follow suit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The podium... but not the crown<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Despite the electric atmosphere, all is not lost for Ferrari. The battle for 2nd place in the championship is more open than ever. <\/strong>Red Bull seems to depend solely on Verstappen, while Mercedes is growing in strength with Russell and Antonelli, without being untouchable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

But the original goal of bringing a title back to Maranello already seems out of reach. <\/strong>As in 2023, the Scuderia will have to be content with a challenger's role.
