Fiat<\/a> is going through a difficult period in the first quarter of 2025, especially in Europe. <\/strong>While the brand continues to perform well in Latin America, it is suffering heavy losses on the Old Continent. Let's take a look at the figures and short-term prospects for the Italian brand.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another fine performance in Latin America<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

As usual, Fiat stands out in Latin America, where results are much more promising. <\/strong>In Brazil, the manufacturer posted an increase of +9% compared with the first quarter of 2024, and an even more impressive +14% compared with the first quarter of 2023. In Argentina, the figures are even more impressive, with a year-on-year increase of 85%. These results are a strong sign of Fiat's strength in these booming markets. At this rate, Latin America will account for more than 50 % of Fiat sales.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Major difficulties in Europe<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Unfortunately, the picture is very different in Europe. <\/strong>The figures are indisputable: the brand is suffering from a dramatic drop in sales in several key countries. In Italy, the decline reached -6% compared with the first quarter of 2024, while in Germany the drop was -36%. France saw one of the steepest declines with -55%, followed by Spain (-41%) and the UK (-22%). This worrying trend underlines a loss of market share in countries where Fiat has long been a benchmark.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Turkey: an unexpected fall<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Turkey, once Fiat's third-largest market, plummets to fourth place, dethroned by Argentina. Long buoyed by the Tipo (Egea in Turkey), the 53% drop in sales in Turkey is a major blow for the brand, which is losing its position.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Japan and the United States: contrasting performances<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Japan, although slightly down with -15%, remains a market where Fiat seems to be finding it difficult to establish itself, while the United States turned in a fine performance.<\/strong> The brand recorded an increase of +239% compared to the first 2024. Admittedly, volumes remained modest, but the Fiat 500 seems to be enjoying a second youth on the other side of the Atlantic, <\/strong>perhaps thanks to the Fiat 500 Giorgio Armani, deliveries of which began a few months ago<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hope for a recovery with the Grande Panda and new models<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The difficult situation in Europe should not last forever.<\/strong> In April 2025, Fiat customers are eagerly awaiting the first deliveries of the Grande Panda, a model expected to turn around the company's fortunes. This launch is seen as an important lever to counter recent poor performance. In addition, Fiat is planning to present an all-new model in a few months' time, and the launch of the hybrid version of the 500 in November 2025 with an ambitious order target<\/a>. These initiatives should enable the brand to bounce back in the years to come.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
