The trend for these countries does not take March into account.<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Strong growth in Italy<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>In Italy, the brand's birthplace, Alfa Romeo recorded a 30% increase in registrations in the first quarter of 2025, <\/strong>a very positive result after two years of stagnation. This upturn in form is certainly an encouraging sign for the brand which, after a difficult period, seems to be back on the growth track, with a total of 8,500 registrations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">France, the brand's new driving force<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In France, Alfa Romeo managed to surprise with a 74% increase in registrations compared to 2024, and even a 125% increase compared to 2023. In March, the brand achieved almost 800 registrations. <strong>This strong momentum means that France is now Alfa Romeo's second best-performing market,<\/strong> ahead of countries such as Germany and the United States.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">A worrying decline in the United States<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite notable performances in certain countries, the United States remains a difficult market for Alfa Romeo. It used to be the brand's second-largest market,<strong> a decline of -15 % compared with the first quarter 2024,<\/strong> in particular due to dependence on the Giulia and Stelvio models, whose appeal no longer fully meets demand. The Tonale, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/en\/alfa-romeo\/alfa-romeo-tonale-now-configurable-with-giulia-and-stelvio-2-0l-petrol-engines-in-this-country\/\">despite a price reduction and a new engine<\/a>is not enough to compensate. In addition, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.italpassion.fr\/en\/maserati\/trump-tariffs-which-italian-car-brands-will-suffer-most\/\">Trump's tax on automobile imports<\/a> could play a role in the brand's future sales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Spain and Japan: contrasting performances<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Spain, although marked by a decline of -6 % compared to 2024,<strong> had a very good March, with nearly 600 registrations. <\/strong>However, it is still too early to judge whether this trend will continue for the year as a whole. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Japan, meanwhile, suffered a significant decline of -26%. <\/strong>This drop is largely due to the absence of the new Junior model, which should nevertheless be on sale in this country in a few months' time, offering a glimmer of hope for the brand in this crisis-hit market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Junior, the driving force behind Alfa Romeo's progress<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>But what's really driving Alfa Romeo's progress?<\/strong> The Junior, without a doubt. It now accounts for a large proportion of the brand's sales, particularly in France, Italy and Spain, where it has been particularly well received.
