For several months now, rumours and announcements concerning the next generation of the Alfa Romeo Stelvio SUV have kept the automotive world abuzz. After hinting at a mid-2025 unveiling followed by a launch the following year, new exclusive information has just been obtained from Alfa Romeo management,<\/strong> during a trip to Turin to test the Junior Q4.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

New presentation date: end 2025<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

While previous statements suggested a first official appearance in June 2025, on the anniversary ofAlfa Romeo<\/a>It now seems that the appointment will be postponed until the end of the year. According to our inside sources, Alfa Romeo is considering present the second-generation Stelvio in December 2025,<\/strong> although this month has yet to be confirmed. The brand is probably looking to fine-tune its launch strategy. As a reminder, the current Stelvio was presented in November 2016.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This information corroborates the latest comments by Alfa Romeo's CEO, who had already confirmed the arrival of the new Stelvio in 2025, while announcing a market launch in 2026<\/a>. The main reasons for this delay are linked to the STLA Large platform, produced within the Stellantis Group, and to the Szentgotthard plant in Hungary, whose full production capacity for electric motors will not be reached until 2026.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Market launch scheduled for spring 2026<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

As for the timetable, while the final presentation of the future Stelvio is now expected for the end of 2025, the marketing of the model is not, is scheduled to start in spring 2026, probably between March and April. <\/strong>This change in planning is in line with Alfa Romeo's desire to focus on an electric 100 % version, although hybrid powertrains will be offered at a later date.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A strategic SUV on the STLA Large platform<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

With the new Stelvio, Alfa Romeo aims to strengthen its position in the premium SUV market. Based on the STLA Large platform, already adopted by some of the Stellantis Group's new models in North America, the future Stelvio will stand out for performance worthy of the Italian badge.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
