While the Fiat Grande Panda<\/a> began marketing in Europe at the start of 2025, it's in Brazil, the brand's biggest market worldwide (more than 520,000 units sold by 2024), that this new model is expected. <\/strong>A year ago, Fiat CEO Olivier Fran\u00e7ois announced that the new range would be global, meaning that the same vehicles (or almost) would be offered in all the brand's markets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fiat<\/a> already offers city cars such as the Pulse, Mobi and Argo models in Brazil. As we revealed at the end of 2024, the Grande Panda will join this range, but not just yet: its launch is officially scheduled for 2026. <\/strong>It would replace two models at once, the Mobi (launched in 2016) and the Argo (launched in 2017), in order to refocus the offering.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Europe, the city car retains the Grande Panda name, Brazil may well opt for a name change. <\/strong>According to information gathered by Brazilian journalists from Quatro Rodas, who travelled to Italy to try it out, the local version could be christened \"Fiat Uno\". A way of following in the footsteps of historic models well known in Latin America.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Beyond the name, the design will differ somewhat from the European version. <\/strong>The expensive front LED panel, one of the striking aesthetic features of the European model, could be replaced in favor of more economical solutions. As for the interior, it should be revised to suit Brazilian tastes, particularly in terms of choice of colors and materials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During their tests in Italy, thehe Brazilian journalists particularly appreciated the 1.2L PureTech Hybrid 100 hp engine. <\/strong>for its robustness and comfort. Nevertheless, the Grande Panda destined for Brazil should receive a 125 hp 1.0L GSE Hybrid block, as well as the 1.0L FireFly and 1.3L GSE Turbo engines, widely present in the Brazilian Fiat range. As for the 100 % electric version,<\/strong> it is not planned for the launch, although its arrival could be envisaged in the longer term. As a reminder, the electric blocks for the European Grande Panda are currently only produced in France, which makes it difficult to make them available internationally from the start of sales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With half a million vehicles sold every year in Brazil, <\/strong>Fiat is betting big on this key market. The Grande Panda (or Uno) is expected to seduce with its versatility, revised design and engine adapted to local preferences.
