Just over a year ago, our Italpassion website exclusively revealed<\/a> that the next generation of the Alfa Romeo Giulia, codenamed 953, would depart from the traditional three-box sedan and adopt a radically new design. Far from the standards of the classic sedan we know, the future Giulia would offer a hatchback trunk, a fastback profile that brings the car closer to SUV codes<\/strong>. An announcement that seemed audacious at the time, but has now been confirmed by Santo Ficili, CEO ofAlfa Romeo<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A year ago, when attention was focused on the brand's future models, in particular the Milano SUV that had become Junior, our site had already obtained exclusive information on the future Giulia. The 953 model would no longer be a classic sedan, but a hatchback, a crossover between sedan and SUV.<\/strong> An increasingly trendy design, like the Peugeot 408. Perhaps this is the answer to all those who have been waiting for the Giulia SW.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Confirmation came this week directly from Santo Ficili, CEO of Alfa Romeo. In an interview with L'Argus, Ficili declared that the future Giulia will indeed adopt \"a new design and a new type of bodywork\".<\/strong>. The positioning of the Giulia which, according to Ficili, will take on a \"more crossover style\". In other words, the sedan will give way to a vehicle with more SUV styling, which, according to the CEO, seems perfectly in tune with consumer expectations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A technical reminder, the future Giulia will be built on the new STLA Large platform<\/strong>The Giulia will therefore share neither the platform nor the electric powertrain of the Peugeot 408. But the presentation of the Giulia is still a long way off, scheduled for just over a year from now. Instead, all eyes are on the new Stelvio SUV, which will inaugurate the STLA Large platform in Europe, STLA Brain technology, new electric motors and more.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Finally, it should be noted that a month ago, we also revealed that another feature of the future Giulia could be the return of the off-center license plate<\/a>The Junior and the future Stelvio have and will have a centered license plate.
