While the 2025 season of Formula 1<\/a> is about to begin, the Scuderia Ferrari<\/a> is beginning to reveal the first secrets of its new single-seater, the SF-25<\/strong>or more precisely project 677<\/strong>. While some information is still unclear, hints about the car are already revealing technical details that could make all the difference for Ferrari next year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

An evolving chassis<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Under the technical direction of Lo\u00efc Serra<\/strong>Project 677 promises many changes, but also some marked departures from the SF-24<\/strong>. The chassis, although already finalized, is currently undergoing intensive dynamic testing to fine-tune the settings for the first authorized test, scheduled for February 19, 2025<\/strong>. The biggest innovation is the adoption of the pull-rod suspension system<\/strong> suspension at the front, a change that took longer than expected to adapt to. This suspension, inspired by the one used by Mercedes, underwent extensive testing to optimize cornering behavior.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Aerodynamics... even more aerodynamics<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

The aerodynamic design will undoubtedly be one of the most visible aspects of the new Ferrari. While the name of the final model has yet to be decided, early indications already reveal a SF-25<\/strong> radically different from its predecessors. The nose, inspired by the VF-24<\/strong>The result is a more fluid profile for improved airflow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The sides of the car<\/strong>in particular sidepods<\/strong>are undergoing a total redesign. The aim is to reduce their volume and height to optimize aerodynamic flow. Ferrari has taken its inspiration from the design of Red Bull<\/strong>This maximizes the efficiency of the airflow to the rear of the car. The Ferrari SF-25<\/strong>or Project 677, marks a major evolution for the Scuderia. Numerous major modifications were made, some of them, like the pull-rod front suspension<\/strong> and the sidepods<\/strong> reduced. Fr\u00e9d\u00e9ric Vasseur stated about 1 month ago that this new car will share only 1 % of its components with the SF-24. Note that Lo\u00efc Serra, Ferrari's current technical director from Mercedes, only arrived in October 2024. The SF-25 was probably already well advanced when he arrived. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
