While Stellantis<\/a> is due to publish its Q3 2024 results on October 31, the Group has decided to Maserati announces early worldwide delivery figures<\/strong>confirming what many had feared. During the third quarter<\/strong>the trident brand has sold only 2,100 vehicles<\/strong>This is a historically low figure, comparable to 2012. In the first nine months of the year, Maserati recorded 8,600 sales, compared with 20,600 in 2023. a drop of 58 %.<\/strong> This plunge comes as no surprise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Barely a month ago, the Italian trade unions revealed a 75 % drop in production<\/a> in the Modena plant, heightening concerns about the brand's future. Already Maserati posted a first-half loss of 82 million euros<\/a>A shock for a brand that not so long ago was posting flourishing results. For Carlos Tavares, CEO of Stellantis, the problem is not product quality.<\/strong> but rathera glaring lack of prospects and leads<\/a> to boost sales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Against this gloomy backdrop, Maserati's management underwent a number of changes in 2024<\/strong>. A new CEO was appointed two weeks ago<\/a>This follows several other senior executive appointments throughout the year. The objective is clear: turn around a situation that seems to be bogging down.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n

But it's not all doom and gloom for Maserati. The recent presentation of the Maserati MC20 GT2 Stradale<\/a> the brand's enthusiasts, even if the too high a price to pay<\/strong>. The brand also shines in competition, notably with his GT2 European Series victories<\/a>. However, these sporting successes are not enough to compensate for the lack of product innovation. Maserati stubbornly focused on all-electricity<\/a>a a strategy that is slow to convince the market<\/strong>. The latest Maserati Grecale Folgore SUV, which is the \"volume\" model, is on paper more expensive than and less capable than the latest Porsche Macan Turbo electric (see our comparison<\/a>).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maserati's situation reflects the challenges of a fast-changing automotive industry. Despite quality products, for too many years now, the brand has struggled to align its offering with market expectations.<\/strong> As a result, the few leads and prospects do not turn into customers.
