L'Alfa Romeo<\/a> Milano, the Italian brand's next small SUV, is still the talk of the town. After revealing its name about a week ago, this highly anticipated model will be officially presented in April 2024. The brand's aficionados have expressed some design concerns following image leaks<\/a> and, also, about its performance. However, recent news may allay their concerns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Milano SUV will share its platform with the Jeep Avenger and the Fiat 600, two electric models manufactured at the Tychy plant in Poland. This information raised a number of questions about Alfa Romeo's ability to stand out in terms of performance and style.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

When presenting the \"Milano\" name to Autocar journalists, Alfa Romeo CEO Jean-Philippe Imparato offered some welcome reassurances. He confirmed that the Milano would be equipped with a 54 kWh battery, similar to that of the Jeep and Fiat. Even more interesting, he revealed that the Milano would have four-wheel drive.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

This configuration suggests a second electric motor at the rear<\/strong>like the Jeep Avenger 4xe prototype. If confirmed, the Milano's power output could jump from 156 hp to around 240 hp. A significant increase that would place the SUV in a much higher performance category.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The CEO insisted that the Milano would be a \"true Alfa Romeo\", promising to prove this on the Balocco circuit. This statement aims to reassure enthusiasts of the brand's sporting DNA and heritage in this new model.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
