After an intense teasing these last weeks with bluish light suggesting electricity and Trident under tension, the D-segment sedan of the Italian manufacturer is officially revealed for its update... Small tour of the beauty.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Restyling... what restyling?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Externally, nothing or almost nothing changes<\/strong>. The sedan keeps its sculptural line but a facelift would have been nice because if it still wears its colors high and proudly displays its almost 7 years on the odometer, the competition is not idle and the\u00a0Maserati Ghibli<\/a>\u00a0no longer has the \"wow\" effect of its debut... Too bad, we'll have to make do with it. Apart from a slightly revised lower front bumper, touches of blue (brake calipers, side vents), the only real \"novelty\" consists of a\u00a0Restyling of the rear lights<\/strong>in the shape of a boomerang. Some will see a slight \"Fiat Tipo\" effect in the rear lights. We have seen better for the high-end inspiration, even if it is not unpleasant...<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Inside, the restyling is also very light. We will note theappearance of a new multimedia system and a new screen that goes from 8.4 to 10.1 inches<\/strong>. The bottom of the center console is also touched up. For the rest, nothing new. The shapes are the same. Maybe some materials will be more upscale but that's about it...<\/p>\n\n\n\n

And the engine?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Maserati was announcing electrification with a lot of communication. You were going to see what you were going to see. Well, we are seeing. Plug-in hybrid point<\/strong>. It's frankly a cold shower. No, instead it will be a simple small 48V hybrid motor<\/strong>It's just as good as a 500X... which doesn't even offer it! The competition must be trembling in Stuttgart, Munich or Ingolstadt... Or rather laughing under their breath?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Here, take the 2.0 Turbo for Giulia and Stelvio<\/strong>. This 4-cylinder engine, less noble than the V6, is here assisted by a 48V starter-alternator<\/strong>. The latter recovers energy during braking and deceleration, stores it in the battery (located in the trunk), and supplies it during acceleration, by powering the engine's ebooster... The 2.0 Turbo engine makes it possible here to supply 330 hp<\/strong>This is more than the 280 of the non-hybrid Giulia and Stelvio. That's something...<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The 0 to 100 km\/h is announced in 5.7s. The 255 km\/h top speed should be reached.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"The hybrid system offers the same performance as the V6 diesel version (with 275 hp) with the power and acceleration of the 350 hp V6 gasoline engine.\"<\/em>announces the trident brand, \"all combined with an impressive reduction in CO2 emissions, 25% compared to gasoline and virtually identical to diesel according to WLTP data\"<\/em> but does not escape the malus in France<\/strong>This is due to the absence of rechargeable hybrids or full-hybrids like Toyota's.
