Pininfarina to unveil a sporty tribute to "one of the most iconic sports cars of the past".

It's an alliance between two complementary worlds: the genius of Italian design and the rigor of competition. In 2026, Pininfarina and JAS Motorsport will unveil an exclusive sports car, inspired by an icon of the past, which we hope will make the hearts of Italian car enthusiasts beat faster.

When racing meets elegance

Since 1995, JAS Motorsport has forged a reputation as a manufacturer of formidable racing cars in Touring Car, GT and Rally, with over 900 victories to its credit. Now the Italian team wants to produce its first road-legal car.

To meet this challenge, JAS turned to a legendary name in transalpine design: Pininfarina. The objective? Rethinking "one of the most iconic sports cars of the past" in a modern version, without succumbing to the temptation of simple restomod. No retro copying here: this is an entirely new creation, driven by the latest technological advances.

Design by Pininfarina

The styling will be entrusted entirely to Pininfarina, the house behind some of the most beautiful Ferraris in history: 250 GT, Testarossa, Daytona... With over 1,450 automotive projects completed since 1930, Pininfarina will apply its codes of elegance and purity to dress this future GT.

Under the body? The mystery remains, but the specification sheet promises to be as sharp as the pencil sketch. Some suggest a chassis developed in-house by JAS, or even an adaptation of the Pininfarina Battista chassis. An electric motor has not been ruled out, although a naturally-aspirated internal combustion engine seems more likely to honor the past.

Ultra-limited production for 2026

Built in Arluno, near Milan, this model will be produced in extremely limited quantities, clearly aimed at collectors. Its name, as yet unknown, will be that of JAS Motorsport, not Pininfarina.

The project is already attracting attention, especially as it comes at a symbolic time: in 2026, the Ferrari 550 Maranello will celebrate its 30th birthday, and the 599 GTB its 20th. Or is this a tribute to Honda? All the more reason to speculate on the real inspiration behind this mysterious sports car. The full reveal is expected in the first half of 2026. Until then, information will be distilled in dribs and drabs.
