If Maserati still makes us dream today with its sumptuous GranCabrio, an elegant and refined cabriolet capable of carrying four people in discreet luxury, the Trident brand has for too long left a gaping hole in its range: that of a small, two-seater cabriolet, pure, sporty and exclusive.
Yet the idea is not new. Back in the 2000s, when Ferrari and Maserati worked closely together, a small convertible project was conceived to replace the Maserati Spyder (2002 - 2024) and Maserati Gransport (2005 - 2007). But from this vision was born the Ferrari California, presented in 2008, leaving Maserati on the quayside of regret. For a while, we believed in the Alfieri and its Spyder version... but these promises remained unfulfilled. For its part, Ferrari followed up with the Portofino and Roma Spider, embodying in their own way the elegance of the Italian sports coupé-cabriolet.
Today, Ferrari goes one step further and unveils the Amalfi, successor to the Roma and pushes the refinement of la dolce vita on four wheels even further. But one illustrator, Luca Serafini (@lsdesignsrl), had some fun revisiting the dream that every Maserati enthusiast holds close to his heart: what if the Amalfi was a Maserati?

Based on the sleek, flowing silhouette of the new Ferrari Amalfi, this vision imagines a Maserati Amalfi Cabrio, reinterpreted with the brand's current stylistic codes: more aggressive muzzle, gaping grille and, of course, the Trident proudly erected at the front. Under the hood, the 490-hp Nettuno 3.0L V6 is capable of catapulting this dream on wheels from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 4 seconds.

Of course, it's all fantasy. But after all, dreaming is part of Ferrari's DNA... and Maserati's. We can only hope that the Modena-based manufacturer will one day find the courage to turn this vision into reality, to the delight of those who want to taste the Trident version of the dolce vita.
Racy and elegant!
But with Imparato at the helm of Trident, this elegance is almost impossible.
