As you can often read on italpassion, any mechanical intervention on an Italian supercar, especially the old ones, can turn into a nightmare. This is demonstrated once again by the DC Motorworks team in a video dedicated to the famous Lamborghini Diablo SV "Victoria's Secret". Their mission? Repair an engine oil leak caused by a simple O-ring, a small part costing less than 1 euro. The only solution? Take out the entire V12 engine. An operation that will take almost 7 hours!
Yes, you read that right: to reach this tiny gasket in the cylinder head, the only viable option is to remove the Diablo's entire engine. An operation which may seem excessive, but which illustrates the complexity (and sometimes absurdity) of maintaining certain exotic cars.

The hour-long video follows the team step by step through the delicate dismantling process, which lasted almost 7 hours: protecting the bodywork, disconnecting cables, draining fluids, removing the exhaust and engine mounts... Nothing was left to chance. All this in a relaxed but studious atmosphere, where the mechanics don't hesitate to ironize about the magnitude of the task for such an insignificant part.

It's also an opportunity to see just how much the Diablo's engine, although designed in the 90s, remains a monument to dense engineering that is not easily accessible. Once the V12 is on the ground, the gasket can finally be replaced... but the video ends there, announcing the sequel for a future episode.
This true story underlines a truth well known to enthusiasts: the maintenance of prestige cars has nothing to do with their initial purchase price. Even the tiniest joint can lead to hours of labor and complex interventions, with a hefty bill for the owner.
