A new record! This Lamborghini Huracán is more powerful than a Bugatti Tourbillon

Even though Lamborghini has officially turned the page on the Huracán, the Italian bull's atmospheric V10 has not said its last word. And when it passes into the hands of Underground Racing, an American tuner renowned for its totally insane creations (to whom we already owed a 1700 hp Lamborghini Huracan), the result surpasses all expectations. This Huracán STO is quite simply capable of making a Bugatti Tourbillon blush.

2,000 horses. Yes, two thousand.

In its Bronzo Zante livery, this Huracán STO prepared for a Texan customer develops 1200 hp on conventional 93-octane fuel. But as soon as it switches to ethanol, power climbs to over 2000 hp! A completely surreal figure, higher than the 1775 hp announced for the Bugatti Tourbillon and its Cosworth-signed V16 hybrid.

To achieve this result, Underground Racing left nothing to chance:

  • an engine cut from the ground up,
  • made-to-measure connecting rods and pistons,
  • CNC-machined cylinder heads,
  • a new machined aluminum intake manifold,
  • and a titanium twin-turbo system, whose manifolds have been heated to obtain a gold-bronze hue to match the bodywork.

The transmission has also been strengthened with a complete 1st to 7th gear kit and a race-typical clutch. Despite all this excess, Underground Racing promises a ride almost as smooth as the original Huracán. That's the level of engineering achieved.

A monster that remains civilized

This monster of power remains surprisingly "livable". Even in traffic jams and sweltering heat, the mass-cut aluminum engine remains as thermally stable as the original. The tuner has added a concealed fire extinguishing system, a 4-point roll bar and racing harnesses for safety. Indispensable when you're playing at this power level.

And the styling is just as spectacular: Underground Racing has even designed UR/MV bead-lock wheels, with gold details reminiscent of the vehicle's livery. The result is an ensemble of rare coherence, both rugged and refined.

Stronger than a Bugatti Tourbillon

Let's compare the figures:

  • Lamborghini Huracán STO Underground Racing: over 2000 hp on ethanol, around 1200 hp on 93 octane.
  • Bugatti Tourbillon: 1,775 combined hp thanks to its naturally-aspirated V16 and three electric motors, for a top speed of 445 km/h.

On paper, the Bugatti retains the aerodynamic and technological advantage. But in a straight-line race, this turbocharged Huracán STO would have nothing to be ashamed of.

The V10 is not dead

At a time when the automotive world is moving towards electrification, and the new Lamborghini Temerario is powered by a V8 engine, there's something deeply satisfying about seeing a V10 engine reach such heights.
