Lamborghini Vision GT: science fiction made real! What if it were the supercar of the future?

It looks like something out of a sci-fi movie... and yet it's real. The Lamborghini Vision Gran Turismo, the concept revealed in 2019 for the eponymous video game, has just resurfaced in a new version, more spectacular than ever. At the Car Design Event 2025 in Munich, Lamborghini proved that this concept car was more than just a styling exercise. And what if this Vision GT were, in fact, the outline of tomorrow's supercars?

The extreme Lamborghini

Right from its first appearance, the Vision GT electrified the automotive world. Single-seater, streamlined, extreme, it pushed back all the limits of what was known to the Sant'Agata Bolognese manufacturer. Five years later, this digital dream has become almost tangible with a new, even sharper version, dressed in an Arancia Egon orange hue, already seen on the Urus SE, far more striking than the military green of the initial concept.

The proportions, on the other hand, remain unchanged: lowered stance, ultra-sculpted bodywork, racing-inspired aerodynamic elements and overall spaceship design. Even the very exclusive Lamborghini Veneno looks wise by comparison. This car seems to come from the future, but it's firmly rooted in the brand's DNA.

A fighter cockpit and a V12

On board, the atmosphere is just as futuristic. The driver (for there is only one seat) sits in the center of the cockpit, in the manner of a Formula 1 or McLaren F1 car. The steering wheel, as crazy as it is ergonomic, incorporates a small central screen, while the head-up display extends across the entire windshield. Immersion is total, as if you were at the controls of a supersonic fighter jet. It's no longer a car, it's an experience.

Unlike other Gran Turismo video game concepts based on fictitious engines, Lamborghini has made a consistent choice: realism. The Vision GT features the same 6.5-liter naturally-aspirated V12 as the Sian FKP 37, combined with a lightweight hybrid system for a total output of 808 hp.

But why not produce it?

That's the question on everyone's mind. Faced with such a demonstration of strength and style, why not make a road version, or at least a track version, as McLaren did with its Solus GT? Lamborghini has chosen a different path: the Vision GT will remain a concept, a rolling showcase of the brand's know-how.

Yet it is not doomed to oblivion. Its return to Munich suggests that Lamborghini values this symbol. And looking at the brand's latest creations, it's hard not to see a direct link. The Revuelto, successor to the Aventador, and the Temerario, successor to the Huracán, are clearly inspired by this Vision GT, whether through their sharp lines or their on-board technologies.

Manifesto for the future

Ultimately, the Vision GT may not be on our roads, but it embodies a philosophy: that of a manufacturer never afraid to go too far. At Lamborghini, excess is part of the brief. And this conceptual hypercar, born for a video game, could well be the most revealing model of the brand's future.

So.., what if the supercar of the future really looked like this? It would no longer be science fiction. It would simply be... a Lamborghini.
