It wasn't a chase, but a race against time. The Lamborghini The Polizia di Stato's Huracán was once again mobilized to save a life: transporting a kidney from one hospital to another, more than 480 km away... in just three hours.

From Padua to Rome at 230 km/h

The scenario sounds like something out of an action movie, but it's real. The Lamborghini Huracán supercar, in the official colors of the Italian police, was called out on a vital emergency mission: to transport a kidney from the Padua Civil Hospital to the Policlinico Gemelli in Rome, where a patient was awaiting a transplant. The journey, almost 500 kilometers long, was completed at a top speed of 230 km/h, thanks to the Huracán's exceptional capabilities and the traffic monitored by the police.

In the car's front trunk, a specially designed refrigerated compartment keeps the organ in optimum condition. This system, combined with an on-board defibrillator and other medical equipment, literally transforms the Huracán into a high-performance ambulance.

One mission among many

This is not a first for the Polizia di Stato. Already in 2023, another Huracán was mobilized to cover 700 km in 4h45 for another emergency organ transport. Since 2004, Lamborghini has been working closely with the Italian police to equip its forces with exceptional vehicles for crucial missions: transporting blood or organs, rapid intervention, or representation at official events.

In twenty years of partnership, over 200 medical missions have been carried out with the various Lamborghinis made available: Gallardo, Gallardo LP 560-4, Huracán LP 610-4 and, more recently, Urus Performante. Each of these cars is adapted to the specific needs of the police force: beacon integrated into the roofline, safety equipment, connected tablet, armored trunk, but also a specialized medical compartment.

The V10 at the service of the police

The Huracán used for this mission is a true mechanical monster: 610 hp naturally-aspirated V10, four-wheel drive, a chassis combining aluminum and carbon fiber, all designed for maximum stability and speed. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds.

January 2025, Lamborghini celebrated 20 years of collaboration with the Polizia di Stato. A relationship that began in 2004 with the delivery of the first Gallardo, and has grown stronger year after year. In 2023, the Urus Performante SUV joined the ranks of the police, also equipped with advanced technologies for public safety... and for saving lives.

Stephan Winkelmann, CEO of Lamborghini, summed up the spirit of this collaboration: "We are extremely proud of this cooperation with the Polizia di Stato. These vehicles embody our commitment to innovation and safety."
