Buy a Lamborghini A used Huracan is a dream that can come true. But when a mechanical problem occurs, the temptation to "do it yourself" to save on labour costs can quickly turn into a nightmare. This is exactly what happened to the owner of a Huracan V10, which passed through the hands of the American workshop DC Motorworks after a... disastrous repair attempt.
A little too much silicone...
It all began when a valve problem occurred shortly after the purchase of the vehicle. The owner, thinking he was doing the right thing, disassembled the cylinder head with a friend, had it repaired, and then tried to reassemble it... in his garage. But when he started it up, something went wrong. He insisted, tried again, but to no avail: the car had to be taken to a professional.

At DC Motorworks, the diagnosis comes quickly: the motor is severely damaged, mainly due to a excessive use of cylinder head gasket silicone. The result? The oil channels are clogged and no longer circulate, the camshafts are corroded... and the entire cylinder head is damaged.
A classic mistake... but a fatal one
On engines, every detail counts. The amount of silicone, the way it's applied, the tightness of the bolts, the exact position of the timing gear... Nothing can be improvised. On this Huracan, the timing was off by 90°, the phase variator bolts incorrectly tightened, and the gaskets installed without following the manufacturer's guides.

What's worse? None of the camshaft bearings are replaceable: the entire assembly is machined from the factory. Impossible to repair. When it's damaged... it's garbage.
A hefty bill
Between the replacement of cylinder heads, camshafts and timing gears, and the many hours of disassembly, inspection, reassembly and testing, the bill flirts with 20,000 $.

The owner, who had hoped to save a few thousand dollars by tinkering on his own, ended up with an even bigger bill than expected. Fortunately for him, the V10 is now finely tuned, runs perfectly... and roars like new.
If you're dreaming of a Huracan, make sure you have a real specialist at your side. Otherwise, the Italian dream can quickly turn into a mechanical nightmare.

Aua Aua das der Typ Null Ahnung von Motoren hat ist klar und dann an ein Lamborghini Motor bei gehen Aua.
