In India, here's a Lamborghini Revuelto shortly after delivery: problem, no airbag triggered!

Just a few days after leaving the dealership, a Lamborghini Revuelto has already completed its career. The scene took place in the southern Indian state of Kerala. In the early hours of the morning, social networks went wild: photos and videos showed the purple Italian supercar in a catastrophic state, lying on its side, pulverized.

The collision involved a Mahindra Scorpio. While the exact circumstances of the accident remain unclear, the damage speaks for itself. According to certain hypotheses, the Revuelto first hit a guardrail before colliding with the Indian SUV. The result: the rear wheel was torn off, the front rim shattered, the front end severely damaged and the passenger side literally destroyed.

A wreck of a supercar

In India, the Revuelto is priced at over 80 million rupees, equivalent to more than 500,000 euros. Under the hood, the Aventador's replacement develops 1,015 hp thanks to its naturally-aspirated V12, backed up by three electric motors.

It had only traveled a few kilometers. According to several publications, the owner, an entrepreneur and head of a major jewelry chain in India, had shared a video of the delivery a few days earlier. The car was still using temporary plates at the time of the accident. Such was the violence of the impact that the supercar appears to be beyond repair. The images show a severely damaged chassis, so much so that many are already talking about a vehicle fit for the scrap heap.

The mystery of airbags

But one intriguing detail is fuelling debate: none of the airbags went off.

In a photo of the interior that has been widely circulated online, the steering wheel and dashboard are clearly visible intact, with no trace of airbag deployment. A surprising finding, given the condition of the vehicle's exterior.

Some Internet users have suggested that the driver was not wearing a seatbelt. Not a very credible explanation: on modern cars, airbags can be triggered independently of seatbelt use, depending on the parameters recorded by the impact sensors. Others point to a particular angle of impact, or deceleration that has not reached the programmed thresholds for activation. At this stage, no official communication from Lamborghini can explain precisely why the airbags remained inactive.

In the midst of this disaster, there was one reassuring piece of information: there were no injuries. Given the apparent violence of the impact and the condition of the car, this is almost a miracle. Brand-new supercar, temporary plates still in place, spectacular impact and airbags left untouched: in India, the Revuelto didn't have time to write its history on the road.
