The case is almost laughable, but it's actually very serious: an energy drink called "Lamborghini Energy Forun" is at the heart of a legal dispute that could lead to a lawsuit for counterfeiting.
Energy drink under the Lamborghini name
It all began in February 2025, when Asia-based Ghini Lounge unveiled with great fanfare an energy drink billed as the new "Lamborghini Energy Forun". The can features the Italian brand's logos, including the famous golden bull and the words Automobili Lamborghini.

The launch is accompanied by a tasting event on February 28, where the drink is promoted as an affordable luxury product, allowing you to taste a "little piece of the supercar universe".
Lamborghini's firm response
But a week ago, the Italian manufacturer Lamborghini issues an official press release in English and Chinese. The tone is unmistakable:
"We have never authorized Ghini Lounge to use, or license to a third party the use of, any of our trademarks. Ghini Lounge is not a partner of our company. Lamborghini Energy Forun products are an infringement of our trademark rights and represent a case of counterfeiting."
The press release also states that Lamborghini has gathered the necessary evidence and intends to take legal action to defend its rights.
Ghini Lounge and its law firm fight back
Unimpressed, Ghini Lounge strikes back. On August 13, 2025, David Fenn & Co, the firm representing the group, issued an official statement refuting the Italian manufacturer's accusations.
According to them, Lamborghini did indeed grant a license to a third party, who then transferred to them the right to exploit the brand. The group claims to have a written document attesting to this authorization. To accuse Ghini Lounge of counterfeiting would therefore be, in their words, an "unfounded and defamatory accusation".
The lawyer added that his client, far from wanting to deceive consumers, was developing an ambitious project to make the energy drink "an accessible luxury", inspired by the image of Italian supercars.
Soon in court?
The positions are now clear:
- Automobili Lamborghini categorically denies having given any authorization and speaks of counterfeiting.
- Ghini Lounge claims to have a valid license and in turn threatens to sue Lamborghini for defamation.
Between a luxury automotive giant and a new energy drink brand, the case could soon be settled in court. In any case, since the affair began, the instagram page @lamborghinienergyforun_hk has been deleted.
