It's a collector's item that's resurfacing. Among the fifty examples produced worldwide, this almost-new 2017 Lamborghini Aventador Miura Homage is now being offered for sale in the United States. Its odometer reads just 528 miles, or 850 kilometers, which means it's never really been driven.

Tribute to the legendary Miura

In 2016, Lamborghini celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Miura, the legendary model considered to be the first true supercar in history. For the occasion, the brand launched a very exclusive series: the Aventador Miura Homage. Produced in just 50 examples, this special edition of the Aventador coupé pays tribute to the timeless elegance of the Miura, while reaffirming the V12 DNA of the Sant'Agata Bolognese brand.

Designed by the Ad Personam department, the Miura Edition is distinguished by its two-tone design, reminiscent of vintage Miura styling: Rosso Arancio Miura bodywork contrasted by gold rocker panels, gold wheels, and the Miura 50° logo embroidered on the seats. The interior features Nero Ade leather, carbon trim and a numbered " 1 of 50 "This is proof of its exclusivity.

Under the hood, the roar of the V12

Like every Aventador LP 700-4, this Miura Homage is powered by the famous naturally-aspirated 6.5-liter V12, developing 700 hp. Power is transmitted to all four wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox, guaranteeing ultra-fast gearshifts and a sound that will thrill any Italian supercar enthusiast.

Despite its age, this example has a clutch wear of just 2 %, proof that it has been preserved with the utmost care. The owner, obviously a collector, has hardly ever dared to drive it.

For sale... at full price!

Offered for sale by Diamond Motorworks, this Aventador Miura Homage is listed at $499,800, almost $100,000 $ more than its new price at the time. It comes with its personalized cover, original manuals, all service documents and a blank Carfax certificate attesting that it has never been involved in an accident.

This model is one of 12 reserved for the American market. A similar model sold for $425,000 a few years ago, with 200 miles on the odometer (320 km). Could this be the same one? Suffice to say, this is a rare opportunity for Lamborghini collectors, especially as its condition is described as "Collector Grade Condition". What if, this time, its next owner finally decides to give it the roar it deserves?

  1. Sorry, but a Miura is still a Miura, and color doesn't make an Aventador a Miura.
When will we see an Aventador Conthach? I can't imagine the sacrilege!
