Just a few days after being spotted on the track at Le Mans Classic 2025, the Kimera EVO38 confirmed its full potential at the legendary Goodwood Festival of Speed. On the famous British hillclimb, the spiritual descendant of the Lancia 037 unleashed its 600 hp and the crowds, reminding us why it already had a cult following even before its first deliveries.

Unveiled in Prototype 01 at the end of JuneThe EVO38 is the ultimate restomod imagined by Luca Betti and his team. Their ambition: to extend the legacy of Turin's rallying icons, by answering a question that every enthusiast has asked themselves one day: what if the Lancia 037 had continued to evolve after 1992? The answer now materializes in a radical machine, blending vintage DNA and cutting-edge technology.

Under the rear hood is a 2.1-liter 4-cylinder turbocharged and supercharged. The result: 600 hp at over 7,000 rpm, 580 Nm of torque, including 400 Nm from 2,000 rpm, and a mechanical soundtrack that'll have the paddock buzzing. To handle this cavalry, Kimera has taken a step forward by switching to all-wheel drive for the first time, with active power distribution and limited-slip differentials front and rear.

The Goodwood Festival of Speed 2025 was therefore the ideal place to demonstrate the vivacity of this road-legal monster. On the famous climb, the Kimera reminded everyone what a rally car of the 80s was all about: raw, noisy, demanding. The 6-speed manual gearbox is an integral part of the experience, as is a chassis designed to reproduce every vibration of the asphalt.

Produced in just 38 examples, the EVO38 is handcrafted like a mechanical work of art. Aesthetically, it retains the muscular lines and wide hips that made the 037 such a legend, modernized just enough to appeal to a new generation of enthusiasts.
