After months of development, Kimera Automobili has just unveiled the first laps of the EVO38, its latest masterpiece. In a video posted on Instagram, the 01 prototype lets its 600 hp roar, revealing the full potential of this extreme restomod.
The EVO38 is the spiritual descendant of Turin's greatest rally sports cars, those that made history between 1978 and 1992. With this model, Luca Betti and his team imagine what might have been if this mythical line had continued to evolve without interruption.
Prototype 01 sets the tone: all-wheel drive, turbocharged and supercharged 2.1-liter 4-cylinder engine, 600 hp at over 7000 rpm, 580 Nm of torque, including 400 Nm from 2000 rpm. Everything is designed to deliver raw sensations: 6-speed manual gearbox, front and rear limited-slip differentials, advanced electronic management... and above all, an unfiltered mechanical character.

Like the EVO37 before it, the EVO38 is designed as a road-legal racing car. It now features all-wheel drive, a first for Kimera, thanks to active power distribution and differentials.
Under the body, the chassis is optimized to handle the power. The aim? To offer rally-like handling, but accessible only to a few enthusiasts.
Kimera will produce only 38 EVO38s, each one handcrafted like a mechanical work of art. The aesthetic remains faithful to the rally spirit of the 80s, with modernized, assertive lines that underline a DNA that is both vintage and ultra-sporty.

With these first laps around the track, Kimera proves that the project is real: the EVO38 is a living machine, ready to revive the golden age of rallying with a modern twist. As Luca Betti says, "these cars are part of our culture, our land, and they still make me dream today". And watching this first shakedown, it's easy to see why.
