While Fiat The 600 continues to quietly consolidate its place in the market. There's a lot of talk about the Grande Panda and the imminent arrival of the Fiat 500 hybrid, but we mustn't forget the 600, which is gradually establishing itself as one of the pillars of the brand's revival.
Since the arrival of its hybrid powertrain, the Fiat 600 has enjoyed a solid run in the small, chic urban SUV category. In Italy, it regularly features in the top 20 sales charts. Even better: in Germany, one in two registrations is now for the hybrid version. In France, it accounts for a third of the range's sales. Enough to encourage Fiat to expand its range.
A more affordable version at €20,000
The brand is currently working on a new entry-level model designed to make the 600 even more attractive. In addition to the 1.2L 110hp and 1.2L 145hp hybrid versions, both with automatic gearboxes, Fiat is preparing a new engine: the 1.2 Turbo 100hp, this time with a 6-speed manual gearbox. This choice is not insignificant. This variant will play a key role in making the 600 much more accessible, with an estimated price of close to €20,000, compared with a current entry price of around €25,000. A significant drop in price, which could broaden the customer base and make the model more competitive in the face of competition from compact SUVs.
A new Sport trim... more Abarth in spirit

Another upcoming innovation: Fiat is preparing a Sport finish to complement the current Pop, Icone and La Prima models. The aim is clear: to offer a more expressive, more visually dynamic version, but without any major mechanical modifications.
This would be an aesthetically-oriented finish, with a sharp look reminiscent of an Abarth 600, but without the performance of a true sports version. The price could be under €30,000, probably close to that of the La Prima finish.

And to add a little spice, a first spyshot of the Fiat 600 Sport recently circulated on the Internet. It's impossible to identify the author with certainty, but the leak confirms that development is complete.
With a more affordable version and a Sport finish designed to appeal to fans of muscular design, the Fiat 600 moves closer to a complete range, capable of meeting a variety of expectations. The 600, in the shadow of the Grande Panda or the 500, could well become one of the brand's most strategic models for 2026.

This is a welcome turn of events by Fiat. Sales of the 600 have been ok, nothing spectacular, lower than the Avenger in Europe So for them to actually sit up and take notice, add a couple of more trims is encouraging. Well done Fiat
Purists will still be grumbling... The 600 is nothing other than a 2008 or Mokka Fiat version.
But as with the Junior ... for want of a "real" Fiat (which was never launched by FCA) at least there's something in the catalog to sell.
A 600 for 20,000 euros is hard to believe, though. Even the Gpanda is just as expensive with the same mechanics...and the base model is much more "eco".
Oops, sorry I read too fast. The 600 would only be petrol and not hybrid at less than 20,000 euros. So yes, it's possible, even if I personally think that petrol cars with manual gearboxes are a thing of the past. But I'm sure there's still a clientele for them (old folks like my parents ... who already drive Toyota hybrids, mind you).
We have the Fiat 600 petrol hybrid. The metallic green is a nice colour however, the hybrid braking is something of an issue with us. Take your foot off the gas and the brake lights come on even if you intend not to slow down. This car replaced our Fiat 500e Red which was much smaller inside than our TwinAir from 2012. The range was not too good either, but, we did buy it as a second car. We now have two "big" cars.
The 500 was sold in the US, but they left, I think. Quality of oriental cars is so good...
I'd like to park one near my real 1960 seciento!
It takes an Abarth 600, 1.5 l Firefly hybrid pushed to 200 hp.
You need an Abarth 500 1.0 turbo Firefly hybrid with at least 140 HP.
By dint of the "democratization" of prices thanks to simplified or less elitist versions.
I could see the 600, which has a nice face, replacing the good old Puntos that are still on the road.
We also need Abarth thermal hybrids
