Five years. That's how long it took Fiat to turn back the clock... or come to its senses, depending on your point of view. In March 2020, in the middle of Covid and a deserted Geneva Motor Show, the Fiat 500 officially entered the "all-electric era". Back then, Fiat said there would never be a hybrid version. I promise.
Here we are in November 2025, and after a slump in sales of the electric 500, a simple fact has emerged: Europe, and Italy in particular, is not yet ready to abandon small combustion-powered city cars. As a result, the Fiat 500 hybrid is finally available to order, five years after the launch of its zero-emission version. And the good news is that prices are now available in several European countries.
A return to essence... and to Italian roots
This new Fiat 500 hybrid marks an important turning point. Unlike the previous generation produced in Poland, the 2025 version returns "home": production at Mirafiori in Turin, with a special "Mole Antonelliana" badge on Torino versions. A powerful symbol.

It is also based on the new, much more modern STLA City platform: driving aids, 10.25-inch central screen, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto compatibility, improved materials, auto climate control, keyless ignition... In short, the 500 hybrid gains in technology what it loses in lightness: the new model is considerably heavier than the old one, which partly explains its modest performance: top speed 150 km/h, 0 to 100 km/h in 16.2 sec and even 17.3 sec for the cabriolet version.
Rates country by country
Not all markets have yet revealed their prices, but those for Italy and France give a fairly accurate picture of what to expect in Europe.

Orders are already open. The Torino versions, available since September and already ordered, will be delivered before the end of 2025. The other versions, Pop, Icone and La Prima, will arrive from February 2026.

A 500 hybrid that arrives late, but not too late?
This Fiat 500 hybrid is a paradoxical model. More modern, produced in Italy, better equipped... but less efficient than its predecessor. It arrives at a time when the market is demanding exactly this kind of car: compact, stylish, inexpensive, easy to drive, gasoline-powered, light hybrid. One thing's for sure: five years after its electric turn, the Fiat 500 is back on the ground it perhaps should never have left.

As the saying goes, better late than never....even if in terms of performance it's not great. Fiat's decision to abandon the golden goose that was the 500 thermal and its Abarth version is unbelievable. I'm sure that in the top international business schools, the management of the Fiat group over the last fifteen years or so is studied as a mistake not to be made in the industry!
I read that right... 0-100 in 16.2 sec!!!. I'm sorry but we're walking on our heads here!!!
Prices are competitive for this excellent and attractive city car, which is very well finished.
We'd also like another, slightly more powerful version.
As a Fiat 500 owner, 1.2 Petrol, 2016 model, I was really excited to see a new Hybrid/petrol car. Issue here is the performance and 1l engine.
Nope this is a nope for me 100 percent nope. Updated 1.2 petrol would have been perfect.
Guess I will be looking at Toyota for my next small car. Shame as I love the Fiat 500
Totally agree! Fiat have missed a trick here massively.
I love my recently acquired second-hand 1.2 four-cylinder lounge model with its digital dash and a proper sunroof.
A 1l with feeble torque and a 3-cylinder engine at 20k plus is not worth it given it will be less efficient and being heavier less agile than its predecessor...
I agree entirely that they should have boosted the bhp and/or kept the 1.2 but upped the bhp and then they would have been on to a winner.
Heyecanla bekliyordum ama hevesim kursağımda kaldı. İki farklı modeli kullandım 2016 ve 2019 2019 çok daha güçlüydü. 2026 da normal vites ve bin motor çok üzücü

Sadly for Fiat, every single review I've seen says the same, its simply not good enough. Fiat have clearly put alot of time & effort on this one, & yet it might be a flop unless they can find enough people to overlook its shortcomings for its cuteness. The only 500 was huge fun to drive - this just looks the part.
