The dream turned to nightmare on the A3 in Bavaria. On Tuesday morning, a spectacular accident involved three vehicles, including a brand-new Ferrari 12Cilindri, estimated at over €400,000. Under the hood of this Italian supercar hides an 830 hp naturally-aspirated V12, but this time the cavalry could do nothing.
According to the police, it all started with a Polestar driven by a 33-year-old man who tried to overtake a truck. In his maneuver, he failed to see the Ferraridriven by a 53-year-old driver. The impact was unavoidable: the 12Cilindri slammed into the side of the electric sedan, before crashing into the guardrail and... the truck. The result: three damaged vehicles, but fortunately no serious injuries.

The accident that attracts stares... and smartphones
Images of the crashed Ferrari soon made the rounds on social networks. The incident even attracted the attention of dozens of passing drivers who, instead of driving off, took out their phones to film the scene. Bad idea: the police took down 65 license plates, and fines of up to €200 were handed out.
When a wreck becomes a YouTube star
While the situation remains unfortunate for the owner, some Youtubers may see an opportunity. In recent years, a real trend has taken hold on YouTube: buying damaged Ferraris in order to refurbish them and generate millions of views.
A few examples have made their mark:
- a Ferrari F430 recovered for less than €10,000,
- a Ferrari 458 Spider bought for around €65,000,
- a Ferrari 360 Modena found at €21,000,
- not to mention a Ferrari 308symbol of the resurrected vintage.
Each of these wrecks, back as good as new thanks to hard work, has drawn millions of enthusiasts to the screens.
So, could this wrecked Ferrari 12Cilindri become the new heroine of a video series? Nothing has been confirmed, but the story already has everything to appeal: a brand-new, ultra-rare model, destroyed too soon, and a restoration that could generate views!
