Just a few days after its official presentation, the spectacular six-wheeled Ferrari F6 is already set to make its first public appearance at an event worthy of the name: the Gumball 3000. Gas Monkey Garage's oversized creation, born of an old Ferrari Testarossa and transformed into a 1,200-horsepower monster, will join one of the most extravagant automobile gatherings on the planet. And it's hard to imagine a better setting for this extraordinary machine.
A first outing in front of thousands of spectators
After more than two years of hectic development, radical modifications and near-complete rebuilding, the F6 has barely been driven before the eyes of the general public. That's set to change on June 7 in Austin, Texas.

Richard Rawlings, founder of Gas Monkey Garage and an iconic figure in the American automotive world, has confirmed that the six-wheeled Ferrari will take part in the Texas leg of the Gumball 3000. The event will bring together over a hundred supercars in the streets of downtown Austin, which will be closed especially for the occasion. For the first time, the F6 will sport its official rally livery, complete with numerous sponsor stickers and an even more aggressive appearance.
The Gumball 3000, more than just a rally
To understand why the presence of the F6 is such a talking point, we need to look at the Gumball 3000 itself. Created in 1999 by British entrepreneur Maximillion Cooper, this rally has become a veritable cultural phenomenon over the years. Often described as the world's craziest race for millionaires, every year it brings together collectors, celebrities, sportsmen and women, artists and influencers to cover several thousand kilometers across different countries.
The concept goes far beyond the automobile. The Gumball mixes supercars, music, parties, entertainment personalities and media operations in an event that looks more like a traveling festival than a classic competition. Previous editions have linked San Francisco to Beijing, Miami to Ibiza and London to Tokyo. Some stages have even involved airlifting the entire caravan between two continents.
A car that perfectly matches the Gumball spirit
If ever there was a car capable of embodying the exuberance of the Gumball 3000, it's probably this Ferrari F6. Let's not forget that it was born from a severely degraded Ferrari Testarossa before being transformed into a totally new vehicle. The Ferrari flat-12 was replaced by a Chevrolet LT4 V8 prepared by Katech Performance and developing almost 1,200 hp. At the rear, two axles allow power to be transmitted to four-wheel drive thanks to a transmission specially developed for the project.

The result is as reminiscent of an Italian supercar from the 1980s as it is of a competition prototype or a vehicle from a post-apocalyptic film. With its huge rear spoiler, six wheels and unique proportions, the F6 is already attracting attention wherever it appears. The Gumball 3000 will now provide it with a global showcase.
Michelle Rodriguez, Patrice Evra, deadmau5... an impressive line-up
Richard Rawlings will not be alone on the roads of Texas. The organizer has announced the presence of numerous international personalities, including actress Michelle Rodriguez, known for the saga Fast & Furious, DJ deadmau5, Afrojack, former French footballer Patrice Evra, rapper Bun B and YouTube car star Juca Viapri. For Rawlings, this participation also has a special flavour. A Gumball regular since 2003, he has already won the rally twice in his career. This year, although victory is probably not the main objective, all eyes will be on his new creation.
