After Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz last November, it's the turn of Lewis Hamilton the Ferrari F80, the most extreme road-going hypercar ever produced by the Prancing Horse marque. In a new video released today by Ferrariseven-time world champion Formula 1 shared the Fiorano track with Charles Leclerc, in a test session that was as spectacular as it was revealing. The verdict is clear: "It's the fastest road car I've ever driven!"
A demonstration of power and balance
Right from the start, Hamilton made no secret of his enthusiasm: "Woo! This thing is quick... it's so fast!" he exclaims, amazed by the F80's acceleration. Beside him, Charles Leclerc keeps smiling and laps on, determined to let Lewis experience the power of this Ferrari like no other.
The F80 is powered by a 900 hp twin-turbo V6 coupled to three electric motors, for a combined output of 1,200 hp. A vertiginous technical record, accompanied by a contained weight (1525 kg) and active aerodynamics inherited from Formula 1.

Hamilton confirms: "In terms of balance, I think it's the best car I've ever driven. I've never driven anything like it on the road." These are powerful words from a driver who has driven in some of the world's fastest cars, and they give full meaning to the F80's philosophy.
Race car behaviour... on the road
"It's futuristic. It's another level.said Hamilton at the end of the session. Between the corners of Fiorano, both drivers emphasize the car's perceived lightness, its precision behind the wheel and its aerodynamic downforce. "The steering is so good, so responsive," notes Hamilton, impressed by the F80's ability to position itself with rare agility.

Charles, on form, doesn't hesitate to tease his teammate: "I didn't even push, I was nice to you." To which Hamilton laughingly replies, "You were all over the place!"
A Ferrari designed for the elite
Produced in just 799 examples at a price of 3.6 million euros, the Ferrari F80 is more than just powerful. It offers an immersive experience, inspired by the world of racing, with a mid-mounted engine, F1-derived technologies (such as DRS and MGU-H) and stratospheric performance: 0 to 100 km/h in 2.15 s, 0 to 200 km/h in 5.75 s.

Hamilton, won over, concludes the video with a very serious question to Leclerc: "What color do you choose?" The latter replies with a smile: "Full black."
The best advertisement for Ferrari
With this new track sequence, Ferrari continues to make its F80 shine. After the sincere enthusiasm of Leclerc and Sainz at the end of 2024, the endorsement of a driver of Hamilton's calibre only reinforces the aura of this exceptional model.
The F80 is the synthesis of Ferrari's racing know-how, adapted to the road, and validated by the biggest names in F1. Lewis Hamilton says it himself: "It's the fastest road car I've ever tried."
