The world's only green Ferrari LaFerrari is for sale... it belonged to the famous singer who had a purple Lamborghini Diablo

There are Ferrari rare. And then there are the unique Ferraris. Here, a green LaFerrari, which left the factory in a totally atypical hue, once belonged to one of the world's most passionate automotive artists: Jay Kay, leader of the Jamiroquai band. This exceptional piece is about to change hands at a much-anticipated auction in Monaco.

A LaFerrari like no other

Introduced in 2013, the LaFerrari marks a historic turning point for the Maranello-based brand. Ferrari's first hybrid hypercar, it combines a naturally-aspirated 6.3-liter V12 with a HY-KERS electric system directly inspired by Formula 1 racing. The result: a combined output of 963 hp and outstanding performance.

Produced in a limited edition of just 499 coupe models, each LaFerrari was allocated to a hand-picked group of customers. Most chose classic colors: red, black, white or yellow. But only one customer dared to think outside the box.

Jay Kay's bold choice

That customer is Jay Kay. The British singer, known as much for his music as for his spectacular car collection, requested a bespoke shade called “Signal Green”. A vivid, almost provocative green, subtly reminiscent of the colors of the Italian flag. It's a choice the artist assumes, declaring that he wanted to “give his car a unique personality”.

This wasn't his first automotive coup: Jay Kay already owned a purple Lamborghini Diablo, which also became iconic. With this green LaFerrari, he takes his taste for unusual configurations a step further.

Delivered in the UK on June 24, 2014, this hypercar obviously doesn't go unnoticed. A few days later, it's already in the spotlight at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.

Unique configuration down to the smallest detail

Beyond its color, this LaFerrari boasts a host of exclusive features. In particular, it features an exposed carbon fiber roof, an option chosen by only 50 or so customers. The Giallo Modena brake calipers contrast with the green body, while the wheels come from Ferrari's ultra-exclusive Tailor Made program.

The interior echoes this bold combination with a mix of black and green leather, contrasting stitching and even a “Jamiroquai” signature engraved on the steering wheel. Right down to the matching luggage, everything has been thought out to create a coherent and unique whole.

A little-used but much-publicized hypercar

Despite its spectacular nature, this LaFerrari was relatively little used. Jay Kay drove it only around 3,000 kilometers before parting with it in 2019. Today, the car boasts just over 12,000 kilometers and benefits from impeccable follow-up in the Ferrari network. Its high-voltage battery was even replaced in 2023, proof of the care taken in its maintenance. It has also been exhibited twice at the Enzo Ferrari Museum in Modena, further enhancing its status as a collector's item.

This unique LaFerrari will be offered for sale by RM Sotheby's on April 24 and 25, 2026 in Monaco. It is estimated to fetch between 4 and 4.5 million euros. In the world of the most exclusive Ferraris, which often look the same, this one reminds us that there's still room for daring... and for a touch of green.
