There are some cars that never grow old, but instead become rolling legends. The Ferrari 458 Speciale Aperta is undeniably in this category. Ten years after its release, this already mythical model defies all the laws of the second-hand market. The proof is in the form of this 2015 model offered for sale by the official dealer Ferrari of Palm Beach for the astronomical sum of $2,099,995, or nearly 1.8 million euros at the current price.

A rarity turned collector's item

The Ferrari 458 Speciale A (Aperta) is the convertible version of the 458 Speciale. Presented at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2014, only 499 examples were produced worldwide, making it a rare and sought-after collector's item. This red example with black interior (Nero) has just 544 miles on the clock (or less than 900 km). In other words: an almost new car, ten years after its launch.

An exceptional pedigree

Under the hood is the fabulous 605hp naturally-aspirated 4.5-liter V8, mated to the 7-speed F1 dual-clutch gearbox. This was Ferrari's last great naturally-aspirated V8 before the era of turbocharging and hybridization, further enhancing its historic value. All this is complemented by a range of equipment to match:

The sale of this example in Florida for over $2 million is probably one of the market records. Is this the most expensive Ferrari 458 in the world? It's hard to say for sure, as private sales sometimes reach confidential amounts. But it's certainly at the top end of the market, and illustrates the frenzy surrounding the latest Ferrari 100 % thermal models. A similar model sold at auction in June 2025 for 1.6 million $s.
