This is the story of a dream turned nightmare. Honkon, a 33-year-old Japanese music producer, saved for ten long years to realize a childhood dream: a brand-new white Ferrari 458 Spider, estimated at €250,000. A symbol of success, perseverance... and unconditional love for the Prancing Horse brand. But barely an hour after getting behind the wheel of his supercar, it all came crashing down.
A (short) walk, then panic
Proud of his new acquisition, Honkon decided to hit the road as soon as he left the garage. Direction: the ring road around Tokyo. He drives, he enjoys it, he even shares his joy with his fans on social networks. Then, suddenly smoke. At first, he thinks it's coming from another vehicle. Then the flames appear. No doubt about it: its Ferrari is on fire.
Miraculously, he managed to get out in time. Physically unharmed, but devastated. His reaction on social networks is as poignant as it is lucid:
" My Ferrari burned up an hour after delivery. I think I'm the only one in Japan with this kind of problem. "

Ten years of work... up in smoke
Although the exact cause is unknown, images of the fire, which quickly circulated on the networks, show the Ferrari devoured by flames on the side of the road. A tragic irony? Honkon only enjoyed his car for 60 minutes.
