He discovers Ferrari and Lamborghini... abandoned in his grandmother's garage!

Imagine opening an old family garage, after years of silence, and discovering two jewels of Italian automotive history covered in dust. That's exactly what happened to a Reddit user who, while visiting his grandmother, made a surreal discovery to say the least: a 1981 Lamborghini Countach LP500 S and a Ferrari 308 GTS Targa, forgotten for almost 30 years.

A treasure forgotten since 1989

The two cars had been parked in this garage since the late 1980s. They once belonged to the young man's grandfather, a former owner of a luxury car rental business. When his business closed, he preferred to store the cars rather than part with them. Since then, they have never seen the light of day again... until one day in 2018, when their grandson rediscovered them.

A garage worthy of a car museum

In this Ali Baba cave, we recognize the Lamborghini Countach LP500 S, one of the most iconic models of the 1980s, produced in just 321 examples. Even dusty and slightly rusty, this Countach retains considerable restoration potential.

At his side, a Ferrari 308 GTS, made famous by the Magnum series, in which Tom Selleck performed a series of wind-in-the-hair chases. Less rare than the Countach, with around 12,000 examples produced, it remains an icon of the prancing horse.

A Mercedes 300 SL "Gullwing" and an MG T-Series completed this incredible collection.

The photos, posted on Reddit by user eriegin, quickly set social networks ablaze. It's not every day you come across Italian supercars left to rot. Some Internet users saw a unique opportunity for restoration, while others praised the emotional and historical value of these cars, marked by time but still full of soul.

The most astonishing? According to the grandson, the cars are not for sale, even if the grandmother was "open to offers". Enough to make any collector dream.

This duo Ferrari/Lamborghini could hardly be more cinematic. The Countach and Ferrari 308 evoke the aesthetics of the 80s. True stars of the screen and the road, they bear witness to a golden age of Italian motoring.
