In recent weeks, several hypotheses were put forward A replacement for the SF90 Stradale, a Purosangue hybrid or a tribute to the legendary F40. Today, a more concrete lead seems to be emerging: Ferrari has just registered two new names that could well correspond to these two future surprise novelties. They are Ferrari SC40 and Ferrari CZ26.

SC40: a modern tribute to the F40?

The name SC40 immediately evokes a nod to the legendary Ferrari F40, released in 1987 to celebrate the brand's 40th anniversary. The "SC" prefix could refer to "Scuderia" or to a special series. Either way, it's hard to ignore the symbolic link with the F40.

There are even rumours of manual gearbox for this future modelA daring choice that goes against the current trend, but which would delight purists. Ferrari could therefore strike hard with a lightweight, radical supercar with neo-retro styling, a true tribute to one of the greatest icons in its history.

CZ26: a total enigma

The second registered name, CZ26, remains much more mysterious. There's no apparent name or logic to suggest its nature. It could be a one-off, a unique creation from the Ferrari Special Projects department, commissioned by a wealthy collector.

This hypothesis wouldn't be all that surprising: Ferrari has a habit of creating highly exclusive one-off models from time to time, such as the SP3JC or the P80/C, which often remain confidential until their presentation.

Looking forward to July...

In the coming weeks, we should already be able to discover the Amalfi and Amalfi Spider, which will mark the transition to a new generation of GT cars from Ferrari. But if these freshly registered names are anything to go by, the year 2025 could still hold some surprises, from iconic homage to ultimate exclusivity.
