Everyone tells him to sell his Ferrari 360 abandoned on his farm... but he'll never sell it because «there are only four of them»

On a farm in Florida, under the sun and in the middle of the dust, a Ferrari 360 Spider was slowly abandoned. An almost unreal image for a car from Maranello. Yet, despite years of neglect, its owner never considered parting with it. And this, despite repeated advice from those around him.

A Ferrari abandoned... but not forgotten

It all starts with a situation that many would consider unsalvageable: a Ferrari left on farmland, exposed to the elements, invaded by dirt... and even by animals.

When Ferrari enthusiast Scott, also known as Ratarossa, returned to the scene, the results were clear. The car wasn't just dirty: it was literally falling apart. Dusty canvas, dismantled interior, missing parts... right down to a squirrel's nest in the front trunk.

And yet, mechanically, all is not lost. After several interventions, including replacement of the fuel pumps and reprogramming of the remote ECUs, the Ferrari is once again able to run. A crucial step: it can live again.

The challenge: erasing years of neglect

But getting an engine up and running is only part of the job. The most impressive part is yet to come: restoring a dignified appearance to this forgotten 360.

Cleaning begins simply, almost by hand, with products found on the farm. And the results are spectacular. Beneath the grime, the black soft top is restored to its original color, in excellent condition. The bodywork, once washed, reveals its shine once again. Even unexpected details appear: an intrigued hen admires its reflection in the shiny paintwork.

Under the hood, the situation was just as critical. Spiders' webs, dust, dirt... a meticulous cleaning process brought the whole thing back to life, until the engine could once again be seen through the rear window.

Improvised but effective catering

Nothing here is a perfect restoration or worthy of a specialist workshop. Screws are missing, some parts are not original, and many elements are simply put back in place with the means at hand.

The taillights are badly connected, the bumper needs to be reassembled, and some parts are almost “off”. But it doesn't matter: the objective is elsewhere. The idea is simple: to make the car sufficiently clean, functional and attractive for its owner to want to use it... and above all, to never let it deteriorate again.

The interior is just as impressive. Between missing panels, loose seats and general disarray, the cabin almost had to be rebuilt piece by piece. Little by little, the Ferrari becomes a place where you want to sit again.

“I've always been told to sell it... but I'll never sell it”.”

Once the transformation is complete, the Ferrari 360 isn't perfect. But it's alive. And above all, it's finally doing what it was designed to do: drive. It's at this point that the owner confides in us.

Since day one, everyone has been telling him the same thing: sell the car. Too much work, too much maintenance, too much hassle. But for him, it's impossible. This Ferrari has sentimental value. It's one of the few cars he wants to keep for the rest of his life. This Ferrari 360 is no ordinary configuration. According to its owner, only four examples exist in this specific shade of green, British Racing Green (BRG), a color far removed from the traditional Ferrari red.

No matter its condition, no matter its potential price. He makes it clear: everything else can be taken from him... except his Ferrari.

After just two days' work, the result is stunning. The car runs and drives properly, and above all, it has regained its charm. The owner then made a promise: the Ferrari would never stay on this farm again. It will be used, maintained and finally appreciated for its true value. A few hours later, the proof was in the pudding: the 360 was parked in a garage, ready to hit the road again.
