When a homeowner's dream turns into a nightmare. In Palm Beach, Florida, a brand-new Ferrari Roma worth $243,000 suffered an unusual mishap: it fell down the shaft of a car elevator in a dealership. Ferrari. An incident as rare as it was spectacular, which mobilized the fire department for an extraordinary rescue operation.

Rapid but complex intervention

The scene took place in a luxury dealership equipped with a special vehicle elevator. While the Ferrari Roma was being moved, a malfunction in the elevation system caused the car to fall suddenly into the elevator pit. Barely delivered, the Italian beauty was suspended for a few moments, before crashing.

The impact caused a fuel leak, creating a major fire hazard. Palm Beach firefighters quickly intervened to prevent the worst from happening, shutting down the building and securing the area. The smell of gasoline, combined with the surrounding tension, gave the scene the air of a disaster movie.

Rescue worthy of a movie

To extract the Ferrari, the fire department called in a specialist towing company. The machinery deployed was impressive: a 14-metre crane and winches were needed to reassemble the Ferrari Roma without aggravating its condition...
