Lancia 037

The Lancia Rally 037 is a rally car developed for Group B and produced between 1982 and 1985. It was derived from the Lancia Montecarlo, but extensively modified for competition.

Unlike its rivals, the 037 remains a rear-wheel drive, a bold choice in the era of all-wheel drive. It is equipped with a 4-cylinder engine with positive displacement compressor, offering immediate response.

The 037 goes down in history as the last two-wheel-drive car to win the manufacturers' World Championship in 1983, beating the Audi Quattro. A total of 262 examples were produced, including the competition versions and the Stradales required for homologation.
