A customer takes delivery of this Capricorn ‘tutto rosso,’ a €3 million German hypercar designed by Zagato

A year ago, we introduced you to a hypercar that was as surprising as it was exclusive: the Capricorn 01 Zagato. A car born from the fusion of German engineering, Italian design, and an American V8 engine. Limited to just 19 units worldwide, this creation—priced at nearly 3 million euros—has just made a striking appearance in Mexico. And not just any car: it’s the 18th of 19, in an all-red configuration dubbed «Tutto Rosso.».

Almost entirely red!

This spectacular Capricorn 01 Zagato was unveiled to the public at the Pastejé auto show in Mexico. And it’s hard to go unnoticed with a design like this! Named «Tutto Rosso,» which literally means «all red» in Italian, this model takes the concept to the extreme.

The body is painted a vibrant red, as are the imposing multi-spoke wheels. But the owner didn’t stop there: the interior also features this color, creating a particularly striking harmony. Even the aerodynamic elements seem to blend into this monochromatic scheme.

The images from its unveiling also showcase its spectacular butterfly doors, which open upward and reveal an interior very similar to that of a race car. Surrounded by enthusiasts who had come to admire it, this Capricorn 01 Zagato, number 18/19, clearly caused a sensation.

An American V8 engine with over 900 ch and a 5-speed manual transmission!

Behind this body designed by the famous Italian coachbuilder Zagato lies a powertrain that goes against the grain of modern hypercars. The Capricorn 01 Zagato was developed by Capricorn Group, a German company specializing in automotive engineering and motorsports. To power its first hypercar, the manufacturer chose a 5.2-liter Ford V8, which has been extensively reworked and equipped with a supercharger.

While initial reports put the power output at 888 ch, the official spec sheet now lists over 900 ch, with 1,000 Nm of torque. The engine can reach 9,000 rpm, a particularly impressive figure for a supercharged V8.

With its carbon-fiber monocoque chassis and a curb weight of just 1,200 kg, the Capricorn 01 Zagato promises exceptional performance: 0 to 100 km/h in 2.9 seconds and a top speed of 360 km/h. But its most surprising feature is still its five-speed manual transmission!

19 units for nearly 3 million euros

Another reason this Capricorn 01 Zagato «Tutto Rosso» attracts so much attention is that it is part of an extremely limited series. Only 19 units are planned, a number that pays homage to 1919, the year Zagato was founded in Milan.

Each car is hand-assembled in Germany and starts at 2.95 million euros, before any customizations. With its serial number 18/19, this Mexican model is among the last in this exclusive production run. Its all-red finish gives it a particularly bold personality, while highlighting the lines designed by Zagato.
