Here's a rare Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione M equipped with a manual gearbox (there are only 3).

L'Alfa Romeo The 8C Competizione is one of those cars that mark an era. Introduced in 2007 and produced in just 500 examples, it immediately won over car enthusiasts with its timeless styling and Maserati (and Ferrari) signature 4.7-liter naturally-aspirated V8 engine. However, one detail tarnished the picture: its six-speed robotized sequential gearbox, judged slow and ill-suited to the flamboyant character of the Italian coupé.

It was precisely this "flaw" that tuner Officine Fioravanti decided to correct. In 2024, the workshop unveiled a unique upgrade program dubbed OF 8C M, transforming the 8C Competizione into a true purist's machine: the installation of a six-speed manual gearbox.

A complete evolution, not just a gearbox

The modification is not limited to the transmission. The Officine Fioravanti package also includes latest-generation carbon-ceramic brakes, Öhlins pilot-controlled and adjustable suspension, significant weight reduction, new ultra-light forged wheels and even FIA-approved carbon-fiber bucket seats. Inside, Italian refinement comes to the fore, with Foglizzo and ostrich leather upholstery, custom-made by Fusina Racing.

The OF-8C M-003

In short, the 8C Competizione M is more than just an 8C with a gearshift: it's a truly modern reinterpretation of one of the finest coupés (and cabriolet) of the 21st century.

Only 3 in the world (so far)

And that's where the story gets even more fascinating. Because this project doesn't involve an entire series, but just three cars in all. The latest, christened OF-8C M-003, has just been delivered, according to the official press release published on social networks a few days ago.

The OF-8C M-003

The mystery surrounding these unique 8Cs even went viral when a Reddit user came across one at a gas station two weeks ago. Posted on the Reddit forum, the "8C M" quickly ignited the online automotive community. Between admiring comments and frustration at not being able to see the interior, still under development. This 8C M doesn't look like the 001, nor the 002, which is a Spider version. Either it's the 003 photographed with different rims, or a 004?
