Alfa Romeo Junior: here are the latest order figures (and happy birthday!)

Advertising

As Alfa Romeo celebrated its 115th anniversary, the Italian brand had just one topic to highlight: the sales performance of its latest model, the Alfa Romeo Junior. In the absence of anything new for 2025, which is already well underway, the manufacturer is once again relying on order figures to fuel its communications.

And for good reason: Alfa Romeo has just announced that it has passed the 42,000 mark in orders for its BSUV, to be launched in spring 2024. This figure maintains the same momentum as in previous months, confirming a stable and promising pace of 40,000 to 50,000 units on an annual basis. A performance that makes the Junior the brand's real sales driver.

A steady pace, quarter after quarter

Since it went on sale, the Alfa Romeo Junior has enjoyed a steady rise in sales, as shown by the quarterly breakdown of orders:

QuarterEstimated orders
Q2 20245 000
Q3 20245 000
Q4 20249 000
Q1 202511 000
Q2 202512 000

These figures show an upward curve, with the second quarter of 2025 slightly up on the previous quarter. This shows that the novelty effect is not yet wearing off, and that Junior is continuing to win over new customers.

A model that has become essential

Today, the Junior accounts for between 50 % and 71 % of Alfa Romeo registrations, depending on the country, a clear demonstration of its strategic role in the range. It is also responsible for the brand's growth in registrations (+20 % year-on-year across Europe), particularly in its flagship markets: Italy, France, Germany and Spain.

As a reminder, over 12,000 units have been registered since the start of 2025, representing a monthly average of between 2,000 and 3,000 vehicles.

What next?

Herein lies the double challenge for Alfa Romeo: maintain the level of orders for Junior, but also broaden the range to prevent the brand from once again relying on a single model. After the Tonale in 2022, the 33 Stradale in ultra-limited production in 2023, and the Junior in 2024, no new models are planned for 2025. This is a cause for concern, especially as Alfa Romeo's survival has historically depended on a range that is too limited.

  1. I don't live in the pampas, but I haven't seen any on the road yet.
After that, numbers don't mean much. I'd like to see a table with the premium competition from BMW, Audi and Mercedes.

  2. I live in Bouaye, near Nantes, and I've only seen one electric Junior in black, and I don't see anything Alfa in the styling, especially the famous grille, which is black and too discreet to recognize if it's an Alfa Romeo.

  3. So much the better that the Junior is selling well. I assume that the 2 electric models represent only a small proportion of sales, and that the bulk of sales are hybrid models.
With a wider range of engines, it would be possible to do even better.
When will the Tonale be restyled?
As for the new-generation Giulia and Stelvio, it's a good thing they've been delayed instead of being offered only in electric version, as originally planned. Alfa Romeo, like other brands, finally understands the obstacles to buying electric cars.
Is it really impossible to fit hybrid engines into the current Giorgio platform?

    • Yes, it's possible to fit hybrid engines on the Giorgio, since the Maserati Grecal 2.0 Gme hybrid exists on the same platform.

    • Yes, it's possible, since the Maserati Grecal does have a 2.0-liter Hybrid version on a Giorgio base that was rejected for the Stelvio/Giulia phase 2, and for me it's a big strategic error on the part of Imparato and Tavares.

  5. The real key for Junior, is year 2 & 3, will it continue selling well, or do the same as every other recent Alfa & will then see declining sales?

  6. I live in the Somme, and I don't see any Juniors on the horizon.
I have an appointment tomorrow at the Alfa dealership to have my Giulia serviced.
    I'll find out.
But if sales are good elsewhere, all the better.

  10. Hello
I've had one since the beginning of the year (red alpha of course!!!) and in my village for the last 1 month there's been a black one too (elec).
In any case very happy with my hybrida

  11. I saw a junior in Ardèche! And frankly, it's very pretty and looks well finished. It's a bit small for my taste (like a Renault capture). The interior is sober, a little too so for some. But the whole thing looks good, I think.

  13. Ich habe einen ELEKTRO für meine Frau gekauft. 156 PS das Auto gefällt mir. Es ist nich der übliche Einheitsbrei, man sieht nicht sofort, dass es ein E- Fahrzeug ist.
