Das ist die Zeit, die Richard Webber an der Seite seines Lancia Delta HF Integrale Evo verbracht hat. Ein ganzes Autoleben voller Erinnerungen, Reisen, Opfer... und jetzt ein Herzschmerz. Der britische Journalist der Zeitschrift Autocar, hat eine schmerzhafte Entscheidung getroffen: Er will sein Auto verkaufen, das er lange Zeit f\u00fcr mehr als nur ein Auto gehalten hat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ein Traum, der im goldenen Zeitalter des Rallyesports geboren wurde<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Wie viele andere Fans verliebte sich auch Richard Webber in den Lancia Delta Integrale, als dieser Ende der 1980er und Anfang der 1990er Jahre seinen H\u00f6hepunkt im Rallyesport erreichte. Ein legend\u00e4res Auto, das die Gruppe A dominierte und zum absoluten Ma\u00dfstab f\u00fcr Sportlichkeit und Effizienz wurde. Damals kostete ein Delta HF Integrale Evo als Neuwagen in Gro\u00dfbritannien etwa 25.000 Pfund. Doch Ende der 1990er und Anfang der 2000er Jahre war der Markt f\u00fcr Youngtimer noch so gut wie nicht existent. Die Preise waren in den Keller gerauscht und boten den Liebhabern eine einmalige Gelegenheit. So kam es, dass Richard Webber im Juni 2001 nach Italien reiste, um einen Delta Integrale Evo 1 in der erhabenen Farbe Giallo Ferrari zu testen. Eine fast unwirkliche Erfahrung, die durch die offenen und kurvenreichen Stra\u00dfen der Scottish Borders, unweit der alten Wertungspr\u00fcfungen der RAC Rally, erm\u00f6glicht wurde. Das Auto ist kein Sammlerst\u00fcck, das in einer Garage erstarrt, sondern ein Begleiter auf der Stra\u00dfe. Dann entwickelt sich das Leben weiter. Richard Webbers Karriere nimmt Fahrt auf, unter anderem bei Autocar. Die Familie w\u00e4chst, die Priorit\u00e4ten \u00e4ndern sich. Der Delta wird immer seltener gefahren. In fast 15 Jahren legt er nur etwa 9.000 zus\u00e4tzliche Meilen zur\u00fcck. Vor allem aber steigt sein Wert.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Wenn Leidenschaft auf Realit\u00e4t trifft<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Der Markt hat sich radikal ver\u00e4ndert. Im Jahr 2017 wird ein fast neuer Delta Integrale Evo Giallo Ferrari in New York f\u00fcr 142.000 Pfund verkauft. Im Jahr 2022 erzielt ein weiteres Exemplar in Gro\u00dfbritannien einen Preis von \u00fcber 100.000 Pfund. Richard Webbers 87.000 Meilen langes, aber perfekt gepflegtes Auto wird heute auf rund 60.000 Pfund gesch\u00e4tzt, was fast 69.000 Euro entspricht. Eine beachtliche Summe. Fast schon unverhofft. Ein \"Manna\" f\u00fcr eine wachsende Familie, vor allem angesichts der hohen Unterhaltskosten f\u00fcr ein Auto, das mittlerweile zu selten und zu wertvoll ist, um wirklich genutzt zu werden. Jahrelang hatte man ihm immer wieder gesagt, er solle das Auto niemals verkaufen. Seine Antwort war immer die gleiche: \"Es sei denn, ich habe keine andere Wahl\". Dieser Moment ist nun gekommen. Und er ist nicht bereit, so zu tun, als sei es einfach. Viel mehr als alle anderen Motorr\u00e4der oder Autos, die er in der Vergangenheit verkauft hat. Denn hier geht es nicht um Logik, sondern um Emotionen. Um diese fast irrationale Verbindung zu verstehen, hat er sogar einen Psychologen, Dr. Christian Jarrett, konsultiert. Die Diagnose war eindeutig: ein Ph\u00e4nomen der \"Objektbindung\". Ein in der Psychologie wohlbekannter Mechanismus, bei dem bestimmte materielle G\u00fcter zu Erweiterungen unserer Identit\u00e4t werden. Die Erinnerungen, Ger\u00fcche, Ger\u00e4usche und Lebensmomente, die mit dem Auto verbunden sind, verst\u00e4rken diese Bindung. F\u00fcr manche Enthusiasten ist ein Automobil nicht nur ein Begleiter von Erinnerungen: Es ist die Erinnerung.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Ein letzter Spaziergang vor dem Abschied<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Auf Anraten des Psychologen g\u00f6nnt sich Richard Webber eine letzte Fahrt mit seinem Delta Integrale. Ein Sommerabend, allein, auf einer Stra\u00dfe, die er besonders liebt. Keine Fahrg\u00e4ste, keine Ablenkung. Eine intime Gemeinschaft mit der Maschine. Das Ritual ist intakt: der Schl\u00fcssel ohne Fernbedienung, die Zentralverriegelung, der Transponder, das Anlassen des Motors, das Warten, bis die Kontrollleuchten erl\u00f6schen. Dann geschieht die Magie. Der Garrett-Turbo erwacht, die 210 PS kommen zum Vorschein, das Fahrwerk absorbiert Unebenheiten mit einer Leichtigkeit, die daran erinnert, warum der Delta zur Legende geworden ist. Trotz seiner M\u00e4ngel, seiner Wankelm\u00fctigkeit und seiner teuren Wartung wird ihm alles verziehen. Doch entgegen aller Erwartungen gesteht Richard Webber, dass der Schmerz weniger heftig war als erwartet. Die Vorfreude war gr\u00f6\u00dfer als die Realit\u00e4t. Er wusste es: Er hatte keine Zeit mehr, das Auto zu fahren. Und paradoxerweise hat er vielleicht auch keine Zeit mehr, sie zu vermissen. Eines Tages wird vielleicht ein anderes Delta wieder in sein Leben treten. Bis dahin begn\u00fcgt er sich mit seinem Familienauto, einem Volkswagen Tiguan mit Dieselmotor.
